Looking ahead to the “post-new normal” era, when the COVID–19 pandemic is over and new lifestyles and economic activities have been normalized, there are high expectations for beyond 5G to be a core infrastructure in the future supporting advanced data distribution and utilization. Because collaboration with other countries, such as joint research and projects, is important for global and interoperable technology development, for the development of next-generation mobile communication technology, there has been an active movement around the world, which the consortium has been established in Japan, while at the same time cooperative activities across borders can be seen. In this session, we will share the visions, trends, current initiatives and future issues, in terms of technological developments for advancements in 5G and beyond 5G with lecturers in other countries and an area.
