Carl Eschenbach joined VMware in June 2002 and acts as the company's chief operating officer. Eschenbach brings more than 24 years of high-tech industry experience including infrastructure software, networking, telephony and storage. Prior to joining VMware, Eschenbach was vice president of North America Sales at Inktomi, and he has held various sales management positions with 3Com, EMC and Lucent Technologies.

Hiroo Unoura is President and CEO of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT).
Unoura joined NTT in 1973. Since then he was engaged in traffic operation management, sales promotion, and human resource management including labor relations, and corporate strategy planning and implementation.
Unoura became Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Strategy Department in 2002. He was named Senior Vice President, Head of New Business Promotion Office, and President of NTT Investment Partners in 2008. Unoura played a major role in planning and promoting NTT Group's Medium-Term Management Strategy, focusing FTTH and mobile broadband service
development and NGN (Next Generation Network) vision released in 2004, accelerating transformation from traditional network career business to global IP-based solution company as a "Service Creation Business Group" released in 2008, and executing acquisitions of Dimension Data plc. in 2010 and Centerstance Inc. in 2012.
In June 2012, Unoura took up the position of President and CEO. He has been taking the initiative in developing a new vision, "Towards the Next Stage" released in 2012, introducing a concept of a "Value Partner" for supporting customers' transformation through offering global cloud services.
He received his B.A. in Law from the University of Tokyo in 1973.

Robert Pepper leads Cisco's Global Technology Policy team working with governments across the world in areas such as broadband, IP enabled services, wireless and spectrum policy, security, privacy, Internet governance and ICT development.
He joined Cisco in July 2005 from the FCC where he served as Chief of the Office of Plans and Policy and Chief of Policy Development beginning in 1989 where he focused on issues cutting across traditional boundaries and led teams developing broadband policy, implementing telecommunications legislation, planning for the transition to digital television, designing and implementing the first U.S. spectrum auctions, and developing policies promoting the development of the Internet.
Before joining the FCC, he was Director of the Annenberg Washington Program in Communications Policy. His government service also included Acting Associate Administrator at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and initiating a program on Computers, Communications and Information Policy at the National Science Foundation.
His academic appointments included faculty positions at the Universities of Iowa, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, and as a research affiliate at Harvard University. He serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Telecommunications Training Institute (USTTI) and advisory boards for Columbia University and Michigan State University, and is a Communications Program Fellow at the Aspen Institute. He is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Spectrum Management Advisory Committee, the UK's Ofcom Spectrum Advisory Board and the U.S. Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Communications and Information Policy.
Pepper received his BA. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Rajasekaran Balasubramaniam (Raj Bala) is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Congizant. In this capacity, Raj's focus is on setting technology directions and shaping up Cognizant's technology leadership in the newer and advance technology areas. He heads up the Global Technology Office (GTO) which has a charter of incubating emerging technologies by focusing and developing expertise on newer and advanced technologies and also provides consulting in the advanced enterprise architecture and solutions areas.
Raj has over 25 years of varied industry experience and was previously managing the Global Delivery Centers of General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) in India and Argentina. He was also the Chief Architect in General Motors where he was responsible for implementing global eBusiness solutions. He also set up and led solution factories, namely the Global Integration Factory, to cater to all external and internal integrations, and a Global Reporting Factory to handle all areas of data warehousing and business intelligence. He has proven capability in incubating several new technologies and helped blend them with delivery, thereby helping build highly technology-focused organizations. Prior to joining General Motors, Raj worked for Complete Business Solutions Inc. (CSC now), and Tata Consultancy Services in various technology and delivery-intensive roles.
Raj holds a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science from College of Engineering, Guindy, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Regional Engineering College, Trichy. He was a gold medalist in B.E., (Honors), and also the university topper in M. E., (Computer Science).

Since Mr. Yamamoto assumed his current role in 2010, he has been leading the drive to transform Fujitsu to become a technology-based, globally integrated service company. In accordance with Fujitsu's vision of a Human Centric Intelligent Society, he is guiding Fujitsu's efforts to leverage the power of ICT to bring about a prosperous society where people can live in comfort and security.
Prior to his current position, from 2008 until 2010 Mr. Yamamoto was in charge of the Company's System Products Business Group where he steered the global expansion of the server and storage products businesses.
Mr. Yamamoto joined Fujitsu in 1976. As an engineer he contributed to the development of the OASYS Japanese word processor, the most popular product in its market segment after its launch in 1980. Mr. Yamamoto later held senior management positions in the PC Business Group, and was appointed Corporate Vice President in 2005. From 2007 to 2008, he was put in charge of both the PC and mobile phone businesses.
Mr. Yamamoto earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Kyushu University in southern Japan. He is married with three children.

Born in 1967, Mr. Akira Morikawa graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 1989 and joined Nippon Television Network Corporation. While involved in a wide range of media businesses, mainly new business projects, he obtained an MBA from the Graduate School of International Politics, Economics and Communication, Aoyama Gakuin University in 1999.
He then joined Sony Corporation and was in charge of new mobile content and broadband businesses. In 2003, he joined Hangame Japan (former NHN Japan), where he first served as general manager, being responsible for the management of Hangame's overall business, then as director, before becoming vice president in October 2006 and president in October 2007.
In November the same year, Naver Japan was established and he became president of the newly established company (while doubling as president of NHN Japan).
In January 2012, NHN Japan, Naver Japan, and Livedoor merged. He remained as president after the merger.
Since the split and the change of the trade name of NHN Japan in April 2013, he has been CEO of the LINE Corporation that conducts web service-related businesses of "LINE," "NAVER," and "livedoor."

Mr. Ken Hu is Rotating CEO and Deputy Chairman of Huawei Technologies. He is a member of Huawei's Board of Directors and Executive Management Team (EMT) and is also Chairman of Huawei USA. With 20 years of experience in the telecoms
industry, Mr. Hu is integral to the strategic direction of the company and instrumental to Huawei's efforts to expand its business in the global markets.
As part of his role as Deputy Chairman, Mr. Hu is head of Huawei's Human Resources Committee and is responsible for the company's leadership and organizational development. He is also the head of the company's Global Cyber Security Committee, which oversees the development of Huawei's global cyber security strategies and the establishment of an end-to-end cyber security assurance system.
Mr. Hu joined the company in 1990, when Huawei was just a fledgling venture. Since then, he has helped Huawei establish a global sales and service network that introduces its innovative products and solutions to the world's leading operators. He also played a key role in the company's management transformation that has facilitated Huawei's globalization. Prior to his current role, Mr. Hu has held several

Kaoru Kato assumed the posts of President and CEO of NTT DOCOMO, INC. in June 2012 after an accomplished 35-year career that started at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), the parent company of NTT DOCOMO.
Mr. Kato became an Executive Vice President, a Member of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the Corporate Strategy & Planning Department of NTT DOCOMO, INC. in June 2008. He was instrumental in devising DOCOMO's medium-term business plans, announced in 2008 and 2011, to transform the company for all-new growth and then help customers achieve smarter lives, respectively.
Prior to that, Mr. Kato held several key positions at NTT DoCoMo Kansai, Inc., including Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors from June 2007, and then concurrently Managing Director of the Corporate Strategy Planning Department from the following month. He became a Member of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the Corporate Strategy Planning Department of NTT DoCoMo Kansai in August 2002.
From July 2005 to May 2007, he also served as a Representative Director and a Senior Corporate Executive Officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co., Ltd., in which NTT DOCOMO acquired a 34% share in 2005 to develop its mobile credit-payment services.
In the aftermath of the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995, while at the precursor of NTT DoCoMo Kansai, Mr. Kato spearheaded network and facility restoration efforts.
In 1991, in the midst of Japan-U.S. trade conflicts, Mr. Kato, working closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the then Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, played an important role in laying the groundwork for NTT's procurement of non-Japanese communications satellites and mobile communications base station equipment.
Between 1985 and 1988, Mr. Kato helped to spearhead development of NTT's first mobile phone, the TZ-802, as well as shoulder and aircraft phones. He is considered by many to be one of the founding fathers of mobile phones, having made instrumental contributions to the development of land-, sea- and air-based mobile communications.
Mr. Kato started his career at NTT Public Corporation in 1977 after graduating from Nagoya Institute of Technology with a master's degree in electronic engineering.
He is married with three adult children―one daughter and two sons.

Simon Segars will become the CEO of ARM Holdings PLC on July 1st following the retirement of Warren East. Simon joined the Board of ARM in January 2005 and was appointed President in January 2013 and then CEO-Designate in March 2013. He was previously EVP and General Manager of the Processor and Physical IP Divisions.
Earlier senior roles included EVP, Engineering, EVP, Worldwide Sales and EVP, Business Development. He joined ARM in early 1991 and worked on many of the early ARM CPU products. Since joining Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in 1976, Takashi Imai has been specializing in navigation and information fields. In 2002, Imai started up Internavi Premium Club, the two-way information communication service.
In 2011, he and his team were awarded "Technical Development Award" in 61st JSAE (Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan) Awards for his research and development based on the best use of vehicle data. In the same year, traffic information maps based on data collected via Honda's Internavi car navigation system and generated to assist people in the area affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake received the Good Design Grand Award.

Kurt Kelty is the Director of Battery Technology at Tesla Motors. His team is responsible for setting and implementing Tesla's battery cell usage strategy. Mr. Kelty is responsible for the technical exchanges and commercial negotiations with each of the battery cell suppliers and early stage battery cell developers. He is particularly focused on evaluating the safety, performance and reliability of cells. Mr. Kelty also leads the battery pack lifetime modeling and degradation efforts.
Mr. Kelty's team validates the pack performance under extreme environmental conditions that might be observed in the vehicle application. He also leads the battery pack recycling and regulatory efforts at Tesla. He is a member of SAE J2929 Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Propulsion Battery System Safety Standard to create abuse standards for vehicle battery packs.
Before joining Tesla, Mr. Kelty worked for Matsushita (Panasonic) for nearly fifteen years, seven of those years in Japan. At Panasonic, Mr. Kelty worked in various planning and marketing capacities related to Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries. During the last 5 years, he founded and led Panasonic's battery research lab in Silicon Valley and created R&D alliances between Panasonic and other battery and fuel cell developers in the U.S.
Mr. Kelty received his B.A. in Biology from Swarthmore College in 1986 and his MSc from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1997.

Dr. Minh Hoang was born in Hanoi, Vietnam in 1957. He has graduated from the High School for Gifted Students at Hanoi University in 1974, and in the same year has won the Gold Medal at the 16th International Mathematical Olympiad in Germany. After obtaining the Bachelor of Science (1980) and Doctor Degree (1984) from the Moscow State University in Russia, he has been invited to work at various research institutes and universities in Moscow, Warszava, Italy, France & Japan during 1985-1991 years. Returned to Vietnam in 1991, he became the Chair of Computing Applications Faculty of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City. Since 2003, Dr. Minh accepted local government jobs as Deputy Director of HCMC Department of Science & Technology and HCMC Department of Posts and Telematics. In April 2008, Dr. Minh has been appointed by the Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam as the first Director of Vietnam National Institute of Software and Digital Content Industry (NISCI), a public-funded Science & Technology Institute with the missions to promote the development of IT Industry for Vietnam.
Dr. Minh can speak fluently in Russian & English, qualified in Network & Cloud Computing, Digital Image Processing, and Computer Graphics & Vision.

Susan Pointer is Google's Senior Director of Public Policy & Government Relations for Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa and Russia - managing senior teams across these four Continents.
She took on this role in July of last year, having previously covered Google's EMEA public policy from London. Susan is now based in Hong Kong. She has been with Google for just over five years in total.
Immediately before joining Google, Susan spent 6 years as Director of Public Policy for global E-Commerce company, Amazon.com - based in Brussels and then London.
Previously, Susan headed the Confederation of British Industry (CBI)'s European Policy Unit in Brussels, worked as a Parliamentary Advisor in the European Parliament, a Parliamentary Adviser in the British Parliament, and worked for an education-focused publishing company.

Amit Gupta completed his undergraduate studies from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in Mechanical Engineering in 2000.
Growing usage of mobile phones in the developing markets inspired Amit to co-found InMobi in 2007. Amit aspires for InMobi to be one of the most successful Internet product companies across the global emerging out of India. Amit heads InMobi's Revenue and Operations and responsible for taking company to a sustainable profitability mark. He has played an instrumental role in expanding InMobi's footprint to multiple markets across 5 continents.
Amit has been a serial entrepreneur, prior to InMobi, Amit founded Analyticsworks, a company that offered a platform for business intelligence. His professional experience include hot start ups like Andale where he worked directly with the CEO to help initiate new areas of revenues for the company; Aditi that gave him hands on experience on building software and a large multinational bank Citigroup where he helped to start scalable business intelligence unit for their consumer finance business. Amit is passionate about entrepreneurship. He has been helping several young entrepreneurs by advising them on every aspect of running a start up. In 2013, he has received a highly coveted Distinguish Alumni Award from his alma mater for his exceptional entrepreneurial achievements.

Roderick Lappin joined Lenovo Singapore in February 2007 as Vice President of Relationship Business for the Asia Pacific Region that included Japan. In his role, he drove the expansion of businesses for public/education/large and small to mid enterprise sectors, while strengthening the relationship with business partners. On October 1, 2008, Rod joined Lenovo Japan as President. He assumed the post of Executive Chairman of Lenovo NEC Holdings B.V. on July 1, 2011, and assumed the current post of Chairman of Lenovo Japan on April 1, 2012.
Prior to joining Lenovo, Roderick entered Dell in 1996, where he spent the next 11 years. Having gone through managerial positions for sales in Australia and Korea, he engaged in the web business for Asia Pacific. He thereafter served as Executive Director of Global sales for Asia Pacific in 2003, Executive Director of Enterprise and Public sectors for Australia in 2004, and Executive Director of Advanced Systems business for Japan in 2006.
Roderick Lappin is from Australia, and has a Business Certificate from Macquarie University. He has lived in Japan for a total of over 6 years.

Waichi Sekiguchi is an editorial writer for Nikkei Newspaper and a newscaster of BS Japan program "NIKKEI x BS Live 7PM.". He joined Nikkei in 1982 and currently covers the IT industry and cyberspace issues. Sekiguchi used to be a Washington correspondent during the Bush and Clinton Administrations in early 1990s, covering US trade and government issues. Prior to that he was a Fulbright research fellow at the Center for International Affairs of Harvard University and he was a chief writer for The Nikkei Weekly, the English edition of the Nikkei newspaper. He has also written many books on the Internet and IT industry. Titles include "Reimagining Japan," "Savvy Search Technique," "Pioneers of Japanese PC Industry," etc. He graduated from Hitotsubashi University and he is a visiting professor at Hosei University Business School and The Center for Global Communications (GLOCOM), International University of Japan. He also teaches at Waseda University and Meiji University as a part-time instructor.
