Stephanie Balaouras leads the research organization that serves Infrastructure & Operations Professionals and Security & Risk Professionals. Her team's research agenda encompasses designing, building, and automating resilient systems, technologies, and processes that firms need to drive innovation, accelerate time-to-market, prepare employees for the future of work, engage and secure customers, reduce risk, and protect the brand.
Stephanie has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise risk, information security, and IT infrastructure and operations. She served as the research director of Forrester’s security and risk research team for nearly a decade, helping drive research in key areas such as governance, risk, and compliance. Stephanie was a principal analyst on Forrester's infrastructure and operations team before joining the security and risk team. Prior to Forrester, she was a senior analyst with the Yankee Group and worked as a senior consultant at EMC and Accenture.
Stephanie holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance and investments with a minor in ethics from Babson College.

Nikesh Arora joined as chairman and CEO of Palo Alto Networks in June 2018. Before joining Palo Alto Networks, Nikesh served as vice president and chief operating officer of SoftBank Group Corp. Prior to that, he held a number of positions at Google, Inc. during a 10-year span, including senior vice president and chief business officer, president of global sales operations and business development, and president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining Google, Nikesh held the role of chief marketing officer for the T-Mobile International Division of Deutsche Telekom AG. He was chief executive officer and founder of T-Motion PLC, which merged with T-Mobile International in 2002.
Nikesh serves on the board of Compagnie Financière Richemont S.A., a public Switzerland-based luxury goods holding company, and Tipping Point, a non-profit organization that fights poverty in the Bay Area. Previously, he served on the boards of SoftBank Group Corp., Sprint Corp., Colgate-Palmolive Inc. and Yahoo! Japan, among others.
Nikesh holds an M.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University, an M.S. in finance from Boston College and a B. Tech. in electrical engineering from the Institute of Technology at Banaras Hindu University.

John was a co-founder of Keyhole that was acquired by Google to provide Google Earth. After working as VP of GEO division in Google, he founded Niantic Labs in-house, which spun out in 2015.

Nobuaki Otake’s consulting career got off to an unconventional start when he was assigned to Germany for two years beginning in 1991. There, he worked on a project for SAP AG, who were looking to bring their products to Japan. After returning to Japan, he then provided support for the establishment of SAP Japan. Since then, he has been involved in a variety of consulting projects, including primarily business transformation (of back-office and front-office business processes), IT implementation (including many ERP implementation testing projects and cloud implementation projects) and project management office (PMO) projects. His main clients are manufacturers (particularly automobile and automobile parts manufacturers) and general trading houses. Nobuaki is particularly knowledgeable in the areas of accounting management, sales management and design development. Recently, he has launched consulting services related to design development and production for clients in the manufacturing industry. With experience on overseas and cross-border projects, Nobuaki brings a wealth of international project experience to his practice.

Tomo Kamiya has served as President of Adobe Japan since April 2021. He is responsible for the overall operations in Japan across Adobe’s three cloud businesses: Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, and Experience Cloud. Since joining Adobe Japan in October 2014, Tomo led Adobe's own Digital Transformation from the legacy perpetual business to a cloud-based subscription model. Prior to joining Adobe, he served in key sales and marketing executive positions at major IT, semiconductor, and audio equipment manufacturers.
Tomo received a Bachelor of Arts in Private International Law from Aoyama Gakuin University and completed the Executive Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Rob Glaser, Founder, Chairman and CEO of RealNetworks Inc. has long been intrigued with the nexus of media, computing, and communications. Since founding in 1994, Glaser has played an integral role in the transformation of the internet into the next great mass medium. In 1995, groundbreaking RealAudio was introduced, the first commercial audio streaming solution for the internet. This was followed in 1997 with RealVideo. RealNetworks’ RealPlayer is downloaded millions of times each month and is one of the most popular pieces of software ever created.
After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus in 2012, he has returned as CEO to revitalize the company and move to a new stage. Currently, he is focusing on the field of AI software that makes full use of deep learning such as face recognition and anti-smishing measures. He uses the latest AI technology to solve social issues and Digital Transformation.
He previously worked for Microsoft for 10 years and held many positions, including Vice President of Multimedia and Consumer Systems.
Glaser is a graduate of Yale University, with a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Computer Science.

Waichi Sekiguchi is a visiting senior staff writer for Nikkei. After graduating from Hitotsubashi University, he joined Nikkei in 1982. Sekiguchi has worked as an editorial writer for 15 years and has covered the IT industry as a senior staff writer for 24 years. As a Washington correspondent during the Bush and Clinton Administrations in the early 90s, Sekiguchi covered US trade and government policies. He was a Fulbright fellow at the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University in the late 80s and a chief writer for the English edition of the Nikkei. After becoming a visiting senior staff writer in 2019, Sekiguchi serves as president of MM Research Institute, a Japanese research and consulting firm catering to the IT industry. He also served as a news commentator on NHK World TV program "Nikkei Japan Report" and was a lead newscaster on BS TV Tokyo program "NIKKEI × BS Live". Sekiguchi was a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo and Hosei Business School. A cybersecurity expert and successful entrepreneur, Ken Xie is Founder, Chairman and CEO of Fortinet, the global cybersecurity leader.
Fortinet’s broad portfolio of solutions spans network, infrastructure, edge, cloud and IoT, serving approximately 70 per cent of the Fortune 100 as well as Governments around the world. Its security driven networking approach combines security and networking to deliver the most advanced, AI driven protection across the entire attack surface. Fortinet is the third cybersecurity company founded by Ken that has been instrumental in shaping the cybersecurity industry. His second company, Netscreen developed the industry's first ASIC and dedicated hardware systems for high-performance firewalls and VPNs and was acquired by Juniper for $4 billion.
Ken earned an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University.
He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Ken is a member of the board for the Cyber Threat Alliance and the Center for Cybersecurity for the World Economic Forum.

Takayuki Morita became President and Chief Executive Officer (Representative Director) of NEC Corporation, a leader in the integration of IT and network technologies that deliver benefits to businesses and people around the world, on April 1, 2021.
Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer, where he managed the financial strategy and operations of NEC’s 100,000 employees and total revenue of $25 billion. Since June 2019, Takahito Tokita has served as CEO and CDXO of Fujitsu Limited. After joining the company, Tokita spent the first 30 years of his career working as a Systems Engineer for customers in the financial industry. From 2017, he was based in London for 2 years serving as the head of Global Delivery Group, which maintains operations in a number of different countries internationally.
Over his tenure, Tokita has spearheaded various ambitious internal transformation initiatives, ranging from an overhaul of existing business processes and personnel systems to corporate culture. Joichi "Joi" Ito is a digital architect, venture capitalist, entrepreneur, writer, and scholar focusing on the transformation of society and technology. He works to respond to complex challenges such as our democracy and governance, climate change, and redesigning systems of scholarship and science.
Joi served as director of the MIT Media Lab from 2011 to 2019 where he lead the establishment of the Digital Currency Initiative in 2015. He was the board chair and chief executive of Creative Commons and has served on numerous other boards, including at The New York Times Company, Sony Corporation, The Mozilla Foundation, The Open Source Initiative, ICANN and The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC).

Oki Matsumoto began his career at Salomon Brothers and joined Goldman Sachs in 1990, and became General Partner in 1994 at the age of 30. He took charge of trading, risk management, capital markets businesses in Asia, and also founded the special situations unit at Goldman. In 1999, he founded Monex which was jointly capitalized with Sony. Monex is listed on the Prime market of Tokyo Stock Exchange where he is presently Chairman of the Board & CEO.
Monex Group is a major online financial institution that operates retail online brokerages in Japan, US, China (including Hong Kong), and Australia, as well as one of the largest digital asset exchanges in Japan. It also runs asset management companies to pursue investment returns through engagement with listed companies to stimulate Japanese capital markets. He held a number of key positions on governmental councils and outside boards including Tokyo Stock Exchange from 2008 to 2013. He presently is an outside director of Mastercard, Incorporated and also a Vice Chair of Human Rights Watch.

He reported on the U.S. technology sector at Nikkei Silicon Valley news bureau in 2001-2005. After joining Nikkei in 1988, Ken reported on such beats as the Japanese capital markets, financial and technology sectors.

During his more than 25 years at the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) and HPE, Antonio has held numerous leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of HPE’s Enterprise Group, which included the company’s Server, Networking, Storage, and Technology Services business units.
Before HPE’s separation from HP, Antonio ran HP’s Server and Networking business. He was responsible for bringing new innovations to market and executing the go-to-market strategy.

Philip Rosedale is the Founder of Linden Lab, parent company of Second Life, an open-ended, Internet-connected virtual world and pioneering metaverse. Following Second Life, he worked on several projects related to distributed work and computing. Excited by innovations in these areas and the proliferation of new VR-enabling devices, he re-entered the virtual worlds space in 2013, co-founding High Fidelity, a company devoted to exploring the future of next-generation shared virtual reality. Philip rejoined Second Life in 2022, as Strategic Advisor, focused on helping to shape and build a better metaverse.
Prior to Linden Lab, Philip created an innovative Internet video conferencing product ("FreeVue"), which was later acquired by RealNetworks, where he went on to become Vice President and CTO.

As a VR (virtual reality) artist, Aimi Sekiguchi creates a wide variety of artworks while giving performances in virtual reality, not only in Japan but also overseas (in countries like the U.S., Germany, France, Russia, UAE, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.).
In 2017, she started crowdfunding to raise the funds needed to hold the world’s first VR art exhibition, in order to raise awareness, and gathered three times her intended amount (347%).
In March 2021, her works sold for around 13 million yen in an NFT auction, and in December that same year, she was picked by Forbes Japan as being one of the 2021 Forbes JAPAN 100, a list comprising the most notable Japanese individuals from 2021.
Sekiguchi belongs to CREEK & RIVER Co., Ltd. She is also an education advisor on VR for Jikei Gakuen COM Group. She was appointed as the Ambassador for Withings and the 'Minamisoma Mirai Egaki (future artistry) Ambassador’ of Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture. She has also been appointed an advisor for Metaverse Japan.

Masahiro Ajisawa joined Facebook Japan as Japan Country Director in January 2020. Prior to his role at Facebook Japan, Masahiro spent 7 years at Twitter Japan, managing the advertising business operations and business development in Japan and East Asia as Executive Director. He then became Senior Director of Sales and East Asia Business Development of Twitter Japan in November 2016.
From 2008, Masahiro worked in Microsoft Japan where he was responsible for PC and mobile display advertising business. Prior to Microsoft, he spent 8 years at Ogilvy Japan.

After participating in multiple system development and maintenance projects for financial institutions, he led the Y2K program office for IBM Asia Pacific and subsequently worked on strategy planning, marketing, CFO office, Software Technical Sales lead, and worked in the United States as Executive Assistant to a senior executive of IBM Corporation. From 2007, he took on various leadership roles in the Services business, driving clients' transformation through consulting, system development & maintenance, and business process outsourcing. In May 2019, he was appointed General Manager of IBM Japan. He is also involved in global strategy planning as a member of IBM’s Executive Committee since 2017.
Outside of IBM, Yamaguchi serves as Representative Director of Accessibility Consortium of Enterprises (ACE), Vice Chairman of DOYUKAI (Japan Association of Corporate Executives) and Chairperson for the Corporate Management Committee, Senior Specially Appointed Professor at Tokyo University of Science in the Management of Technology program.

Jose W. Fernandez was confirmed by the Senate as Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment on August 6, 2021. He leads the State Department’s bureaus and offices that stand at the center of the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts on climate change, clean energy, health, supply chain security, and other economic priorities. Under Secretary Fernandez is also the United States Alternate Governor to the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Inter-American Development Bank. From 2009 to 2013, he served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs, one of the bureaus he now oversees.
Prior to his most recent appointment at the Department of State, Under Secretary Fernandez was a partner at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP in New York. His practice focused on mergers, acquisitions, and finance in Europe and emerging markets, advising U.S. and foreign clients in the telecommunications, energy, water, banking, and consumer industries. He was named one of the “World’s Leading Lawyers” by Chambers Global for his M&A and corporate work, a “Highly Regarded” practitioner by the International Financial Law Review, and one of the “World’s Leading Privatization Lawyers” by Euromoney Publications. He has been chair of the Inter-American law committees of both the American Bar Association and The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, as well as of the Cross-Border M&A and Joint Venture Committee of the New York State Bar Association. Most recently, Fernandez was an adjunct professor at Rutgers Law School, where he taught the course on international business transactions.

Marc Ablong PSM was appointed Deputy Secretary at the Department of Home Affairs on 11 October 2018. Prior to this appointment, Marc filled the position of First Assistant Secretary Strategy and Capability, Department of Home Affairs, on secondment from the Department of Defence.
As at 1 September 2021, Marc leads the Strategy and National Resilience (SNR) Group responsible for strategic guidance and capability planning; intelligence; law enforcement; data and technology; electronic surveillance; and regional processing and resettlement.
SNR Group provides strategic leadership and policy development across the Portfolio and enables the work of other Groups in achieving our vision of a prosperous, secure and united Australia.
Marc spent 25 years in the Department of Defence in a range of positions across strategic policy and intelligence, capital equipment and acquisition policy, international policy, military strategy, maritime capability development, Air Force long-range planning, national support, information strategy and futures, strategic reform, and ministerial and executive coordination and communications.
In 2014, Marc was appointed First Assistant Secretary White Paper, to lead the development of the 2016 Defence White Paper, Integrated Investment Program and Defence Industry Policy Statement, which were released by the Government on 25 February 2016. Following the release of the 2016 Defence White Paper, Marc was appointed as the inaugural First Assistant Secretary Contestability. Marc subsequently held roles as First Assistant Secretary Naval Shipbuilding Taskforce and First Assistant Secretary Defence Industry Policy (which he undertook concurrently with his role as leading the Naval Shipbuilding Taskforce). From October 2017 to April 2018, Marc acted as the Deputy Secretary Strategic Policy & Intelligence.
Marc has attended the Joint Services Staff College, the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies and completed the Advanced Management Program 190 at the Harvard Business School. Marc was awarded the Public Service Medal in the Australia Day Honours 2018.

Mr. Naoki Tani has been leading the R&D Innovation Division since June 2020. He is responsible for the entire R&D activities of NTT DOCOMO, including radio, mobile core, terminals, and services, and for the creation of a vision of future mobile systems and services.
Prior to the current assignment, he was Managing Director of loT Business Department from June 2014, where he was responsible for marketing strategy, service planning, business development, and technical support of loT business for 6 years. While in charge of loT business duties, Mr. Tani also assumed the role of Senior Vice President of NTT DOCOMO in 2017.
Mr. Tani started his career at NTT in April 1989, where he was involved in the initial development and deployment of mobile communications network systems. He has continued his responsibility for network development and deployment also after moved to NTT DOCOMO upon its establishment in July 1992, while shifting his focus of activity to international standardization, development, and deployment of 3G (W-CDMA) and LTE network systems.
Mr. Tani graduated from Tokyo University with a Master of Engineering in 1989 and from Duke University with a Master of Business Administration in 1997.

Nobuyuki (Nobu) Uchida is an Executive Officer and Division Manager for the Technology, Strategy & Compliance Division at Rakuten Mobile. He joined Rakuten Mobile in 2018, and currently oversees the technology strategy vision for the company that includes spectrum, standards, satellite communication and government relations.
Prior to Rakuten Mobile, Nobu spent 19 years at Qualcomm, one of Rakuten Mobile’s key partners. He was responsible for M2M/IoT standards as Director of Engineering at Qualcomm Japan. From 2002 through 2007, Nobu worked on 3GPP2 standards development at the Corporate R&D Division at Qualcomm.
His career started at DDI Corporation (now KDDI Corporation) in 1992. At DDI, Nobu was engaged in mobile network system development and standardization.

His career started as a software engineer for the development of digital telephone switching system for global communication service providers.
In 2012, he became General Manager of Carrier Services Division, responsible for overall network services and solutions for telecom carriers.
In 2014, he became Senior Vice President and headed the SDN /NFV business which is the core technology for next generation carrier network.
In 2017, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and head of Telecom Carrier Business Unit, supervising the provision of a wide range of end to end telecommunication products and solutions.

As Corporate Executive Officer and Vice Head of Service Platform Business at Fujitsu, Shingo Mizuno is responsible for Fujitsu’s network business worldwide, including wireless and optical products, network solutions and integration services that are becoming increasingly complicated and require high levels of skills and expertise. He has also recently taken on the role of President & CEO of Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc on April 1st, 2022 to further drive business growth in the US and worldwide.
Mizuno joined Fujitsu in 1989 and has held number of leadership roles within the company, mostly in the wireless business group. Prior to assuming the Corporate Executive position, he was a Vice President and Head of Mobile Solutions Division, leading Fujitsu’s mobile core network solutions for service providers as well as enterprise customers, and integration business with strategic partners. Previously he was engaged in 3G mobile system development over 10 years in Evolium, a joint venture company of Fujitsu and Alcatel. He also has wide experience of mobile system’s standardization and global deployment such as Open Radio equipment Interface (ORI).
He currently serves as Director for IOWN Global Forum, also contributes to several important committees for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Photonics Electronics Technology Research Association (PETRA) and the ITU-Association of Japan.
He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Tokyo University of Science.

Mr Ari Kynäslahti has a long career working at Nokia. He joined Nokia in the beginning of 1995. In Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks he has worked in many manager positions, for example as Head of Mobile Networks Product Management, Head of LTE Product Management, Head of Global Radio Sales and Head of WCDMA Product Management as well as multiple positions in R&D and Business Development.
In his current position as Vice President Strategy & Technology, CTO he is responsible for creating business, technology and partnership strategies for MN and contributing to Nokia level strategy. He is also responsible for MN level portfolio and investment management as well as roadmaps and product decisions for MN SoC:s, BTS platform including RF platforms and baseband platforms and to define and maintain the product leadership plans in RF, BB, automation, AI/ML, ORAN/vRAN architecture and Private Wireless Networks. In addition to these, in his current position he is managing the co-operation with key interface partners, i.e. R&D, sales, standardization, research, chipset vendors and device vendors.
